Three New Colorways with Two for Halloween

This week I created three new colorways. Two are Halloween colorways, and one is a new sunset colorway for a place I can only dream of visiting.

The first Halloween colorway is called Ghoulish. It’s an assigned pooling colorway with black as the background and dark purple, bright orange, and neon green as the assigned colors. I dyed it on Sock Perfection and on Squoosh Worsted. I figured Squoosh Worsted would be good for quick projects since Halloween is just a month away, and Sock Perfection is great for everything from socks to shawls. Here it is on Squoosh Worsted:

Here’s a closeup of the assigned pooling section of Ghoulish on Sock Perfection:

As I write this, I’m realizing that the neon green section looks more yellow than green in the photos, but it is in fact green.

I also set up a dyed to order listing for Ghoulish so you can get it on any base you like. I do recommend superwash bases for the brightest colors.

The other new Halloween colorway is called Halloween Party. It has the same 4 colors as Ghoulish, but this one is a block variegated colorway with blocks of orange, deep purple, neon green, and black.

I dyed Halloween Party on Stained Glass Fingering and Squoosh Worsted. Here it is on Stained Glass Fingering…

…and here is Halloween Party on Squoosh Worsted:

I knit a sample hat using Halloween Party so you can see how it can work up:

I also made a dyed to order listing for Halloween Party:

Halloween Party and Ghoulish would look great together, and both of them look great with Regal or with Little Black Dress.

The other new colorway was inspired by a sunset I can only imagine–Hawaiian Sunset. Those of you who have been there will have to tell me if the sunsets in Hawaii are really this gorgeous!

Hawaiian Sunset is a Splashed and Speckled colorway. I already sent the skeins I dyed to their new home, but it’s available dyed to order right here.

You can also find these three colorways along with all the other fresh-dyed yarn in the New This Month section of my shop right here.

Restock on Stitch Markers

My daughter made some more Hearts and Butterflies stitch markers:

I’ve been noticing this China blue pattern on lots of clothing lately as well. They’ll be fun to knit or crochet with!

On a Personal Note

You probably already know how much I love The Lord of the Rings since I have so many LOTR colorways in my shop. As further proof of our general nerdiness, we had a hobbit party to celebrate Frodo and Bilbo’s birthday on Tuesday complete with elf ears, hobbit feet, and a LOTR trivia contest. It was a lot of fun to get together with friends and family!

Now that the party is over, I’m onto the next thing, which is an alumni business fair for the college I went to. I get one six-foot table, which is nowhere near enough for the number of skeins I have in stock at any given time, so every year it’s a struggle to figure out what to include and what not to include and how to squeeze as much yarn onto that one table as possible! Nonetheless, it’s always a lot of fun to see old friends and meet the wonderful students as well.

I think that’s everything for this week. I hope you have a great weekend, and I’ll “see” you next Friday!
