Free BEAUTIFUL Crochet Pattern from Fig Tree Crochet

This week I have something really special for you. My friend, Donna Farrell, is the owner of Fig Basket Crochet. She has been crocheting for over 30 years, and she just started publishing her fantastic designs.

She generously offered to give each of you her Primrose Lace Summer Shawl completely free. She is even including a step-by-step video tutorial to go along with it, and it is so clear and easy to follow.

Here is the shawl that she made using Smitten and Little Black Dress in Sparkly Merino Sock:

She used three skeins of the main color and one more for the edge for this large size.

I also have to show you the one she made in all Enchanted Forest. I actually got her sample of it because I just couldn’t resist and I don’t crochet (yet). This pattern has me inspired to try to learn though. My daughter, Mary, is modeling it here:

To get your own copy of the shawl pattern, just go to Fig Basket Crochet on Ravelry and use the coupon code PurpleLamb0721. The coupon code is good until the end of the month.

I am in awe of Donna’s generosity in offering this to all of us! If you don’t use Ravelry and you’d like a copy of the pattern, just email me, and I’ll send you a copy of the pattern.

Once you get the pattern, you can head on over to Donna’s youtube channel and see her wonderful step-by-step tutorial that’s just for us. How awesome is that?

You can see how it works up in lots of different colorways right here:

Any of my sock-weight yarns would work beautifully for this pattern! Which one is your favorite?

If you love these as much as I do but you don’t crochet, Donna has some of her samples available for sale as well. You can contact her about that on her Facebook page. Do take a moment to follow her while you’re there. This was our first collaboration, but we have something else in the works, so it won’t be our last.

On the Lamb

I had a great time at my trunk show at On the Lamb in Grapevine last Friday and Saturday. The owner, Heather, was a fantastic hostess, and it was great to meet her and also to finally meet some of you in person. Many thanks to all of you who came! It was so nice to actually have an in-person event for the first time since COVID began! It’s a beautiful, well-organized shop with lots of indie-dyed yarn, so if you are in the area, please do stop by. I’ll be back again for the North Texas Yarn Crawl on September 19th.

I hope you have a wonderful week and that you find some time to make something you love!
