The Winner of the Giveaway, Two Possibilities for the November Club Colorway, and Some New Colorways on Stained Glass Sock

Good morning and happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week and that the weather there is as beautiful as it is here. We’re finally enjoying real fall weather, and I love it so much.

This week I wanted to tell you who won my Spinner’s Advent Calendar Giveaway. I also want to share the November club colorway painting and show you a couple new things in the shop.

Show and Tell Next Week

Before we get to any of that, I want to mention that I’ll be doing a Show and Tell newsletter next week, so if you have works in progress of finished items made from Purple Lamb yarn and fiber, please do share them with me so I can share them with all of you. I think everyone enjoys seeing what you’re making and using it as inspiration for the next project.

…And the Winner Is…

The winner of my Spinner’s Advent Calendar Giveaway is Emma W. Emma, I just emailed you to let you know, so please check your email so I can get you all set up. I’m so excited for Emma and grateful to everyone who entered.

Advent Calendars

I’m actually dyeing up the Spinners’ Advent Calendars now. I just started yesterday. I finished the Yarn Advent Calendars and got them on their way late last week and early this week. If you ordered either one or both, I hope you really enjoy creating with them! I took lots of photos and actually made a video for the yarn one, but I have to wait to share them until after Christmas so as not to spoil the surprise for anyone.

November Club Colorway

I am really having trouble choosing between two different paintings for inspiration for the November club colorway, so I thought I would do something different and ask all of you to help me decide.

The first possibility is by Lois Jones, and it’s called “Hong Kong, La Nuit.” Here it is:

The second possibility is “The Freshness of Cold in the Evening” by Leonid Afremov. My son thought it was too similar to the Afremov I did this time last year, but I think the differences are distinct though it definitely has his unique style. Here it is:

Which one do you like best? You can vote even if you aren’t a club member, but if you are a club member, I’ll count your vote as two votes. How’s that sound? Just send me an email with the one you prefer, and I’ll tally up all of your votes and let you know next week which one I’m doing for November.

New in the Shop

I have been so busy with the Advent calendars that I have not had a chance to make quite as many new things as usual, but I do have a some colorways dyed up on my new Stained Glass Sock for the first time.

Here they are:

Even though I haven’t dyed up quite as much as usual, there’s still a great variety in the shop as always, so come see if there’s anything that would be perfect for your next project.

I’ll “see you” next week. Until then, I hope you have a chance to enjoy the fiber arts and the fall weather–ideally at the same time.

Stay well!
