Introducing My New Yarn & Fiber Clubs – You Choose the First Colorway

Good morning, my fellow fiber artist!

As you may know, I have been working and planning for a monthly yarn subscription club for awhile now, and this week I finally made those plans a reality. I’m so excited about this!

Not one to do things by halves, I actually created four different clubs for you to choose from. Each month, subscribers will receive a brand new colorway inspired by a different famous painting. I set it up so you can easily sign up, pause your subscription, switch to a different club, or cancel it whenever you like. It’s like Netflix for yarn and fiber!

The deadline to sign up for each club is on the 1st of the month, so the deadline for the February club is February 1st. I will mail out the new colorway by the 21st of each month, and the colorway will be for club members only until some months have passed.

Here’s a little bit about each of the four different clubs:

  • Luxury Sock-Weight Yarn Club – Each month you will receive a skein of yarn based on the painting of the month and dyed on one of my luxury sock-weight bases such as So Silky Sock, Sparkly Merino Sock, or Donegal Sock. I will vary which yarn base I use from month to month, choosing the luxury yarn base I think will go best with each colorway. These yarn bases are great for cowls, shawls, sweaters, hats, scarves, and more.
  • Sock Perfection Yarn Club – If you love knitting socks, this is the club for you. I’ll use the same colorway based on the famous painting of the month, but I’ll dye it on my Sock Perfection yarn base, which is made of 80% extra-soft merino and 20% nylon–perfect for socks. I also include the option of adding a coordinating mini skein for cuffs, heels, and toes.
  • Luxury DK-Weight Yarn Club – If you prefer working with a heavier weight yarn but don’t want to compromise softness, this one is the perfect club for you. I’ll be using my Buttery Soft-DK Yarn for this club, which is made of 45% baby alpaca, 45% extra-soft merino, and 10% silk. It’s a tremendously soft yarn base with great stitch definition that I use for both knitting and weaving. I’ll be using the same famous painting for each club each month.
  • Art Batt of the Month Club – Last but not least, I created a new club for spinners and felters. I’ll be using the same famous painting as my inspiration for a new art batt colorway. Each month, you’ll receive a 2 ounce art batt made of all the wonderful fibers I usually use, including merino, organic Polwarth, silk, alpaca, bamboo, camel down, lovely locks, and sparkle.

You can learn more about each of the four different clubs or sign up for any of them here.

As I mentioned, I’ll be using a famous painting as my inspiration for the new colorway each month, but to make things fun, I thought I’d let all of you choose the first painting. You don’t have to sign up for the club to vote. Just send an email or comment to let me know which one is your favorite of these three paintings, and I’ll use the one that gets the most votes as my first club colorway inspiration.

Option #1: “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Seurat
Option #2: La Moulin de la Galette by Renoir
Option #3: School of Athens by Raphael

Thanks for voting! If you have any questions or ideas, please don’t hesitate to contact me with those as well.

Happy fiber artistry!

  1. My preference is ‘Afternoon on the La Grande Jatte’ I love the greens and the blues, the small spots of contrast and the beiges keeping the feeling subtle.

  2. Hi Carla, Great idea on the Yarn Clubs, although not sure I’ll be able to do them—hoping to! My vote for February would probably be Option #3: School of Athens by Raphael. I seemed to be drawn to subtles and earthy tones lately.

    1. Thank you, Pam. So far School of Athens is getting the most votes. I’ll add yours. I’m afraid shipping is not included. By pricing them without shipping, I can offer them worldwide, so that was why I decided to go that route.
