Eight Days of Easter Kits

Good morning! For the third year in a row, I’m offering an Eight Days of Easter mini-skein kit. This year it’s going to be different though.

For the last two years, I included my own Diamond Twist cowl pattern and eight 10 gram minis.

This year, though, the kit will include Ambah O’Brien’s Kalari Shawl and eight 20 gram mini skeins dyed by me as a splashed and speckled gradient on Splendid Sock. The pattern is a perfect match for the yarn and vice-versa.

Here is Ambah’s beautiful shawl pattern in her original colorway:

Just keep in mind that the colorways will be different for my kit.

Each of the 8 mini skeins has 92 yards, so the kit comes with a total of 736 yards of sock-weight yarn. I’m using my Splendid Sock yarn base, which is made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon.

Each mini skein will come inside an Easter egg, and all eight Easter eggs will be placed in a reusable basket complete with Easter grass and a little extra surprise as well.

Kit Colorways

Similar to an Advent yarn calendar, the colorways will be part of the surprise. I’ll tell you this much though–they will be beautiful together and great for spring. They will not, however, be the same soft pastels of the past two years.

The idea is to open the numbered eggs in order and knit (or crochet) that part of the pattern each day during the Easter season. Of course if it takes a little longer, that’s okay too. It’s meant to be enjoyed for as long as it takes.

Pre-Order

I’m offering these as a pre-order through March 14th or until all 15 kits are sold out, whichever happens first. I already have the yarn, and I’ll be dyeing all the kits beginning on the 15th and shipping them out by March 26th in order for them to arrive by Easter, which is on April 4, 2021.

You can find the Eight Days of Easter Kits in the Kits and Sets section of my shop right here.

Bandera Fiber Festival

In other news, I’m going to be visiting the Bandera Fiber Festival near San Antonio this weekend. I won’t be a vendor this time–just a fiber-loving visitor. I’ll be wearing my Purple Lamb t-shirt (and a mask of course), so if you’re there, I’d love to meet you.

I think that’s everything for this week. Have a wonderful week. I hope it includes some joyful creativity!
