A Few More Advent Calendars and Some Other Lovelies

Good morning! Happy Friday to you! Today I have a few things I want to share with you in the midst of a very busy day, so let’s get straight to it.

Retired Colorways

I have a few colorways I have decided to retire for various reasons. I have them in a section of their own on my website right now with a small discount for each one. When these are gone, I don’t plan to make them again. You can find them in the new Retired Colorway section of the shop right here.

A Few More Advent Calendars

Just after I sold the last of my Lord of the Rings themed yarn Advent calendars, I had a lovely customer ask if it would be possible for her to get one. How could I say no? After that, I realized that it would be best if I added 5 more for sale so that I have the right number of full pans when I dye them up, so I just added those to the shop. If you had hoped to get one and thought it was too late, you now have another chance. You can find them right here.

New This Week

This week I dyed up three of my most popular colorways–Beautiful Universe, A Light in Dark Places, and Purple Prism. I have each one on a multitude of different yarn bases. You can see them all here:

Coming Up Quickly

I am continuing to prepare for the DFW Fiber Fest. I just got more grid wall and a couple of mannequins for the first time. If you are in the area, I would love to meet you in person and say hello!

For the Spin Together competition, we are also just about to move from the “team creation” phase to the “join a team” phase, so if you are interested in joining a team, you’ll be able to beginning on September 1st. I’ll be offering a discount on all my art batts to Spin Together team members.

I had thought about running my own team this year, but once again there is just so much to do behind the scenes that I decided it would be better to stick with that and just spin along during the big competition week instead.

Feather Sock

The last thing I want to mention this week is Feather Sock. It has been awhile since I introduced it, and I wanted to bring it to your attention. It is a non-superwash merino/silk blend that I got especially for weavers but really for anyone who prefers non-superwash. It’s a lovely 2-ply yarn base with a soft hand. I don’t have a lot of it in stock, but I do have a nice selection that I have dyed up. It has 490 yards per skein! Here is Monet’s Cathedral on Feather Sock as an example:

I think that’s everything for this week. I’ll have an important announcement next week, so please do check in next Friday. Stay well!
