I was conflicted about which painting to choose for the September club colorway, so I thought you could help me choose. I’ll make whichever one gets the most votes. If you are reading this, you can vote. If you are a club member, your vote counts twice. How’s that sound?
Option #1 is Veronese’s Wedding at Cana. He painted it in 1563. I love all the color and the activity going on. You can see the servants pouring the water into jugs, and you probably know how the story goes from there. Here it is:

Option #2 is quite unique. When I first saw it I thought it had to be from the 20th century, but it’s not. Like the Veronese painting, this is from the Mannerist period. It’s called Flora, and it was painted by Giuseppe Arcimboldo in 1589. Here it is:

If you look up Arcimboldo, you’ll see that his paintings get even wilder than this one!
To vote, just email me with your preference of Option #1 or Option #2. If you want to tell me why you prefer one or the other, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Again, anyone can vote, but if you are a club member your vote counts twice. I’ll keep track of your votes and let you know which option won the contest in next Friday’s newsletter.

Colorways to Go with Texas Bluebonnet
Some of you asked if I could make semi-solids to go with the Ikat stripes in Texas Bluebonnet, and I was delighted to do so! The semi-solid colorways are Pistachio Green, Alpine Sky, and Peony Pink.

If you don’t see the base you want in stock, they are all available as dyed to order.
As a reminder, I’m still donating 20% of Texas Bluebonnet to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to help the flood victims through the end of the year.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
Lately I have been making your dyed-to-order orders and making more of the same colorway for the shop. That means there’s a lot of variety from week to week in the shop.
I think my personal favorite from this week is Neon Lights on Stained Glass Sock. It’s the first time I have dyed this colorway on this base, I hope you love it as much as I do. Here it is:

Neon Lights is a bright, happy block-variegated colorway that can be used for planned pooling projects.
Here are the other fresh-dyed colorways from this week:

You can find all of these in the New section of my shop.
I think that’s everything for this week. I’ll see you next week with the results of the vote for September’s club colorway.
