Some Fresh-Dyed Colorways

I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m just getting back to ordinary time after the holidays.

This week I have lots of fresh-dyed colorways on a variety of yarn bases. I have a skein or two of each of these butterfly colorways in stock on Stained Glass Fingering:

I also dyed Sea Glass on So Silky Fingering for the first time:

This colorway is similar to Galadriel’s Gift but even lighter in color.

I dyed Paris on Twinkle Sock:

…and Turquoise and Amethyst on Stained Glass Fingering:

All of the colorways I just mentioned have cheerful, happy colors for grey winter days.

On the other hand, I also dyed some deeper colorways that seem a little more in keeping with Old Man Winter, like my new Oak Creek Canyon on Squoosh Worsted:

…and Evergreen on Suri Lace Cloud:

You can see all of these and more in the New This Month section of my shop.

A New Option for the Clubs

I decided to add a new option for several of the yarn clubs, which is a skein of Suri Lace Cloud in a matching semi-solid to go with the club colorway. Suri Lace Cloud is similar to brushed mohair in texture, but it’s a lot softer. It’s great to hold double with another skein of yarn to add that wonderful fluffy texture to your project.

I added this option for the Sock Perfection club, the So Silky Fingering club, and the Buttery Soft DK club. I’d be happy to add it to the Twinkle Fingering and Squoosh Worsted clubs as well if that is something you want. Just let me know and I’ll do it.

If you are already a club member and you would like to add a skein of Suri Lace Cloud or make any other changes to next month’s club, you can do so right here. You can find that link on my website under Info by clicking on “Manage Subscriptions” anytime you need it.

If you are not a club member yet and would like to join, you can click here to learn more.

Spin Together

Spin Together is a week-long spinning competition that takes place once a year from wherever you are in the world. This year’s competition will take place beginning on February 21st, and it will be our 7th year! Like last year, the focus is on creativity in spinning. Tomorrow (Saturday), team registration opens for people who want to lead a team. If that’s something you are interested in or if you know someone who might want to lead a team, please mention it to them. You can find out more on the Spin Together website.

At the beginning of February, it will be time to join teams. Last year we had some awesome teams, and I’m confident that we will again this year. Just FYI, while I did lead a team last year, this year I’ve decided to just stick with the organizational tasks of running the competition. It’s sort of hard to do both!

On a Personal Note

I had jury duty for the first time earlier this week. It was actually a very interesting experience, and I was impressed by how friendly and kind everyone was–both the people who work at the courthouse and everyone else who had jury duty. There was a lot of waiting around, but fortunately I came prepared with both a knitting project and a crochet project. Isn’t that one of the best things about the fiber arts? It’s such a great way to pass the time when you’re waiting!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and find lots of time to curl up with a great project!
