Dyeing, News, Show and Tell

So Long, Squiggle Sock. Farewell, Feather Sock. Hello, Baby!

Squiggle Sock and Feather Sock are two delightful yarn bases, but it’s time to say goodbye to both to make room for other things. I love them both, but it seems that most of you prefer other yarn bases. Squiggle Sock has wonderful texture with something like handspun beehives every couple feet, creating subtle texture in whatever you make with it. Feather Sock is a light sock-weight yarn with 490 yards per skein. It’s a soft 2-ply yarn made of untreated merino and mulberry silk.

I went ahead and dyed up all the skeins I had left of both yarn bases, and they’ll be available until they sell out. Here’s what’s available on Squiggle Sock:

Farewell to Anger on Squiggle Sock
Beautiful Galaxy on Squiggle Sock
Northern Lights on Squiggle Sock

Beautiful Galaxy and Northern Lights look great together. Also, you can pair these with a skein of Suri Lace Cloud for an extra special treat. You can see all the remaining Squiggle Sock skeins right here.

For Feather Sock, I have a few more colorways available. Again I have Farewell to Anger:

Farewell to Anger on Feather Sock

Farewell to Anger look great with Begonia…

…or Japanese Maples:

Japanese Maples

I also have these four that look great together or on their own:

Lilac, Purple Delight, Northern Lights, and Eowyn Meets with Aragorn

As I’m writing this, it occurs to me that these four would look great together for Casapinka’s pattern, Your Slip Is Showing.

You can find all the remaining skeins of Feather Sock right here.

Hello, Baby!!!

I’m down in the Texas Hill Country helping my daughter and son-in-law with the new baby, who was born this week. He was a healthy 8-1/2 pounds. Here he is just an hour after birth:

Isn’t he beautiful? He’s also very sweet and peaceful, and my daughter, her husband, and the baby’s big brother are all doing well. It’s such a privilege to be with them during this special time!

Show and Tell Next Week

Next week is Show and Tell week, and you can send your WIPs and FOs to share. It’s a great opportunity to share what you have made with people who know the hours and skills that go into it. It’s also a chance to share something you’ve really enjoyed and inspire others who might enjoy making the same project. For me personally, I love being a part of what you make and seeing what the yarn and fiber I have made “grow up” to become. You can email me a photo and tell me about your project anytime its convenient, and I save them for the next show and tell.

See you next week!
