Show and Tell – October 2025

We have some beautiful projects to share for this month’s Show and Tell newsletter. I love sharing these with you, and I also love seeing what my little yarn babies grow up to become!

Let’s start with this beautiful cowl by Catie. The pattern was just published by Jennifer Lovett specifically for assigned pooling yarn. It’s called the Metamorphic Cowl, and it’s Tunisian crochet.

The colorway is Van Gogh’s Starry Night on Sock Perfection. This is the first time I’ve seen an assigned pooling pattern for Tunisian crochet, and I think it looks stunning, don’t you? What a beautiful job Catie did!

Next we have this lovely hat and scarf set that Bobbe made. She used Day at the Beach. noro-keyhole-scarf, and 2×2 rib hat by Coukkii Jar Hope your yarn and these patterns make

The scarf is the Noro Keyhole Scarf by Terri Decker, and the hat is the 2×2 Rib Hat by Coukkii Jar.

Next we have a project from Cheryl who is all ready for the holidays with this gorgeous cowl! The pattern is Inclination by Scott Roth

The colorway is Poinsettia dyed on Buttery Soft DK. It’s one of my Ikat colorways, and I love how it worked up in this cowl! Ikat colorways are dyed with one main colorway and very short segments of a different colorway or colorways.

Deb sent this next project. She used the little sample skeins I send along with a darning loom to darn these socks. Isn’t that delightful?

The colorway is Sunset at Sea.

The next project is from my dear friend Paula. She is on grandma duty just as I was last week. She’s helping her daughter-in-law with new twin baby girls. Somehow she found a little time to get started on last year’s Advent calendar using Sandra Paul’s Baubles and Berries Wrap:

Next we have this gorgeous and creative project from Evelyn. She used my Wisteria colorway on So Silky Sock and made the Sanibel Cowl by Beth Anne Paustian with it. It calls for worsted weight, so she held the yarn double. Then she added one of my hand-dyed scarves in the same Wisteria colorway.

I would never have thought of doing this, and I think it’s brilliant!

Last but not least is this gorgeous textural felt painting by Kelly.

You can find her work on her Facebook page at Timber River Artworks. I always love seeing the beautiful things Kelly makes!

It’s such a joy for me to see and share what you are all making. Anytime it’s convenient, feel free to email me a photo of your latest WIP or FO and let me know if it’s okay to share it in the next Show and Tell newsletter.

November Club Colorway

For November, I chose a still-life by Orsola Maddalena Caccia, an Italian nun and painter. She painted Fruits and Flowers in 1630.

It’s going to be a fun challenge to keep the bright fruit and flower colors separate from the darker background.

An Update on the MKAL

Lena’s mystery knitalong started on Wednesday, but it’s not too late to join. Here’s a sneak peak of how the first part works up in Galadriel’s Gift and Dreams of the Sea:

You can order her pattern and get the first clue right away on her website here. Perhaps you have the perfect yarn combo in your stash already. If not, I have some of the colorway sets already dyed up and ready to ship. They are listed individually now and include…

A Lovely Trio for Autumn

A customer was asking for a semi-solid or two to go with my new Japanese Maples colorway. I think these three look great together, don’t you?

From left to right they are The Winedark Sea, Japanese Maples, and Ochre. Wouldn’t these make a great shawl to wear this autumn?

On a Personal Note

I am home again from helping my daughter and her family. The new baby is so sweet and generally content, and his 2-year-old big brother is adjusting well. I got to spend a lot of time out and about with our 2-year-old grandson so mamma and baby could rest. I miss them all already, but hopefully it won’t be long before we see them again. I’ll leave you with one more photo of the cutest baby ever. No grandma bias here.
