Every couple months here at Purple Lamb, we do a Show and Tell newsletter. It is always such a joy to get to see and share the beautiful things you all have made! Many thanks to those of you who took the time during such a busy season to send photos of what you have been working on!
The first project comes from Heather, who made this delightful sweater using A Light in Dark Places and Party Like It’s 2029:

Julie kindly sent two recent FOs. The first one is the Eight Days of Easter kit from last spring:

She used the Mini Madness Shawl pattern by Angie Kimel, which I included with the kit.
The second one is the TV Scarf by Michelle Bernard:

This next project is a beret that I crocheted:

The pattern is The Soft Beret by Judy Malcolm, and the yarn is Beautiful Universe on Buttery Soft DK. I have made this a few times now, and I find it comes out just right with the extra rows for the slouchy beret.
–
Next we have a stunning scarf that Kim shared with us:

The pattern is Hera by Gudrun Huskins, and Kim used the Uneek version. The pattern uses German short rows to achieve this fabulous look. The colorway is my Van Gogh’s Starry Night colorway.
Kim made the Starry Night version 48 stitches wide instead of the 84 so it would be scarf-length with just one skein. Now she’s working on another one that is the full 84 stitches across:

She is using Monarch Butterfly, Colorado Hairstreak Butterfly, Copper Penny (recently replaced with Ochre), and Epiphany for this one.

The last project is one of my own, and it’s from the 2024 Advent Calendar. I decided to weave the fabric for a skirt with it. Here it is on the loom:

I used my Ashford 32″ rigid heddle loom with all 24 So Silky Sock mini skeins for the warp and Suri Lace Cloud dyed dark grey for the weft. The funny thing is that by the time I finished it late last spring it was too warm to wear, so I just got to wear it for the first time this month. Here it is:

I wove four panels with a little space between each, ironed medium interface to the inside, and sewed them the four panels together to make the skirt. I didn’t have to cut the woven cloth at all. Next time, I’ll probably go for three panels instead of four, and I might use light interface or try it with none at all.

Mini Skein Sets
This week I dyed up several mini skein sets using Stained Glass Fingering to give you a head start on upcoming holidays:

I made a bundle on Ravelry with some knit and crochet pattern ideas for these mini skein sets.

Stitch Markers Galore
If you would enjoy a fresh set of stitch markers, I have so many new options! My daughter and son-in-law have made all these fabulous stitch markers by hand:

These sturdy stitch markers open and close, so they work well for both knitting and crochet:

Some are made of metal, some are made of resin, and some even glow in the dark like the ducks! You can see all of them in the Accessories section of my shop right here.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
I have been dyeing up a storm in anticipation of taking a few days off for Christmas. In addition to the mini skein sets, here’s what’s new in the shop:

I also dyed up all four colorways from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on Buttery Soft DK:

The four seasons together make a complex gradient going from light to dark.
You can find all of the above in the New This Month section of my shop right here.

On a Personal Note
We have all but one child coming home for Christmas along with my wonderful in-laws and sisters too. I’m really looking forward to spending time with everyone. I’m also waaaay behind on the handmade gifts I have planned. Hopefully I’ll still be able to get them finished in time, and if you’re in the same boat I hope you too get everything finished in time.
I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas!
