A couple weeks ago we talked about Lena Mathisson’s upcoming mystery knitalong for her Mermaid Dance shawl. It’s a crescent shawl made with sock-weight yarn, and it has lots of amazing stitches. You’ll need two contrasting colorways so the stitches show up well. If you don’t have the perfect colorway combo in your stash, I can help! Lena chose Dreams of the Sea and Galadriel’s Gift on Dream Sock for hers. In addition to that fabulous and very mermaid-worthy colorway combo, there are some more to choose from here:

The mystery knitalong will begin on October 15th, and you can sign up for it on her website here. Use the coupon code PLFAmermaid to get 25% off her pattern through October 8th!
If you would like to order the yarn and have it in time for the MKAL, you’ll need to order it by October 8th or (ideally) before so I have time to dye it up, let it dry, and ship it to you.

A New Lord of the Rings Colorway
As you probably know if you’ve been around these parts for awhile, I really love The Lord of the Rings books, so I’m really excited to show you this new colorway. The colorway is called Beyond the Grey Havens. It’s based on a line from the very end of the trilogy: “The grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise.“
I dyed it up on Stained Glass Sock…

…and Dream Sock…

Beyond the Grey Havens is also available dyed to order on any base you like.
If you love The Lord of the Rings as much as I do, perhaps you would like to see all the current LOTR-inspired colorways in one place. Here they are as both yarn and art batts.
I think that’s everything. Have a great weekend!
