It’s time for this year’s Eight Days of Easter Kits! Each year for the last seven years I have created a mini skein surprise kit for Easter. These are like a mini Advent calendar. This is a preorder, which means I’ll be dyeing up as many kits as there are orders.
This year the colorways will be inspired by the beautiful bridal bouquet in this photo:

The colorways will be a combination of assigned pooling colorways and semi-solid colorways, all made to go together.
The yarn base is Silken Fingering, a soft and lovely 2-ply yarn made of 80% superwash merino and 20% mulberry silk. You’ll get eight 20 gram minis with the kit. Each one is 80 yards, so you’ll get 640 yards altogether.
I’ll be including a knitting pattern of my own design made for this kit. It’s a small shawl called Field of Flowers, and it’s appropriate for an advanced beginner. I’ll be sending a paper copy of the pattern with the yarn. If you’re a crocheter and would like pattern suggestions, take a look at the bundle I made for assigned pooling on Ravelry.
Each mini skein will be packaged in a small reusable drawstring bag, and those will be placed in a reusable basket with paper Easter grass. The idea is to open the numbered drawstring bags in order from 1 to 8 and knit or crochet that part of the pattern each day starting with Easter Day.
Timeline
Easter will be on April 5th this year, so I’ll be dyeing all the kits and shipping them out by March 25th in order to have plenty of time for you to receive them before Easter. The deadline to order will be March 1st or when they all sell out–whichever comes first.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
This week I dyed several assigned pooling colorways. I dyed more of The Phoenix on several yarn bases. Here it is on Squoosh DK for the first time:

I also dyed Monet’s Water Lilies on several bases, including Splendid Sport:

Last but not least is Peacock Feathers, freshly dyed on several yarn bases. Here it is on Stained Glass Fingering:

You can see all the other fresh-dyed yarn in the New section of my shop.
I hope you have a great weekend and find time to enjoy the fiber arts!
