December Club Colorway

Each December I have chosen a painted related to Christmas. This time I’m going a little past the Nativity to the presentation in the temple by Rembrandt. Rembrandt made at least 2 depictions of this scene. He painted this one, known as Simeon in the Temple, in 1631. Simeon is the one holding baby Jesus. According to the gospels, Simeon knew that he would see the Messiah before he died.

I’m excited to get to work on this colorway! The last day to join the club in time for the December club colorway is November 30th.

Fresh from the Dye Pots

This week I’ve been dyeing up a variety of yarn colorways, all of which you’ll see in the sale. I’ve also dyed up some super soft kid mohair locks in a variety of colors. Here they are in Eggplant:

I also dyed them in Irish Moss, Lilac, Contentment, Chocolate Brown, and Vermillion red. You can find all the hand-dyed locks right here. I have them available by the ounce. They’re great for spinning, felting, and doll-making. These are the same locks I dye for my art batts. And yes, these are part of my big Black Friday Sale too.
