This week I have a new pattern to share with you. I named it the Bermuda Triangle Shawl, and my hope is that you’ll “get lost” (in a good way) in all the fun stitches. It’s what I call a triangular crescent, and it’s similar in overall shape to my Metamorphosis Shawl but with a whole different set of stitches. It starts with just a few stitches and gets wider as it goes. The top has a gentle curve. Here’s what it looks like:

It takes two skeins of sock-weight yarn, and I recommend using one Splashed and Speckled colorway (a variegated colorway that isn’t likely to pool) and one semi-solid. For the sample I used Farewell to Anger as the variegated colorway and The Winedark Sea as the semi-solid. I made it using Dream Sock, but any sock-weight yarn will work so long as it has at least 437 yards per skein.
Here’s what it looks like from the top:

You can see how the tips curve inward here:

The variegated colorway is simple stockinette while each semi-solid section (say that three times fast) has a different lacy pattern. There’s the Trinity Stitch, the Bamboo Stitch, the Ridge Stitch, and a variation of the Eyelet Stitch. My goal was to make a design that required a minimum of counting and a maximum of fun stitches.
You can find the pattern on my website here or on Ravelry here.

New/Old Colorways Available
I brought back a couple of old colorways recently. One is Galadriel’s Gift. I’m collaborating on a shawl pattern by the lovely Lena Mathisson, and it was the perfect colorway for her project.

I have it in stock on Sock Perfection and available in the dyed to order section of my shop here.
I also recently brought back Ochre, which was inspired by the pigment commonly used in Renaissance paintings. That too is available both on Sock Perfection and in the dyed to order section of my shop. Here it is:

Update on Texas Bluebonnet
Thanks to all of you I was just able to send $332 to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to help the flood victims in and around Kerrville, Texas. That’s in addition to the $930 we sent to Mercy Chefs. I hope to send the last of the original orders tomorrow. Thank you, thank you for your generosity!

Show and Tell
I’d like to do a Show and Tell newsletter next week or the week after. If you have a work in progress or finished item to share, please email it to me along with any pattern info. This is such a great way to share what you’re working on and give others inspiration for their next projects.
See you next week! Have a great weekend!
