2025 Advent Calendar – The Colors of Serenity

This year’s Advent calendars are ready for preorder starting right now! I normally wait to list these until August or September, but this year is different. Our oldest daughter has a baby due in late September, and I plan to go help, so I decided that I had better have all the kits dyed up and ready to go before the baby is born.

This year’s theme is The Colors of Serenity. For both the yarn and the fiber Advent calendars, I’ll be making a gradient set using the peaceful, serene colors in this photo:

The yarn Advent calendar will come with 25 mini skeins on your choice of Silken Sock, Stained Glass Sock, or Wonderful Worsted. It also comes with the options of a full-sized skein to go with the minis and/or Suri Lace Cloud to hold double. Since I have multiple yarn weights, I decided to include a list of possible patterns rather than a single pattern.

The fiber Advent calendar for spinners and felters comes with 25 boxes of fibery goodness. Most of the boxes will have merino, but some will have silk, bamboo, baby alpaca, and sparkly Angelina. The fiber calendar comes with the option of hand-dyed locks to add texture to your spinning or felting.

Hand-Dyed Top

It’s almost time for Tour de Fleece, so I dyed up some lovely top this week on a 70% merino/30% mulberry silk blend.

You can see these and the other hand-dyed top right here.

July Club Colorway

For the July club colorway, I chose The Visitation by Pontormo, which he painted between 1528 and 1529. Like Michelangelo, Pontormo worked in and around Florence and was patronized by the Medici family.

What I love about this is the look of understanding and quiet joy visible in both the faces of Mary and her cousin Elizabeth. I also love the vibrant colors. I can’t wait to get to work on this!

Fresh from the Dye Pots

In addition to the hand-dyed top I mentioned above, I made a new assigned pooling colorway called Cloud Gazing this week. Here is the yarn:

Here’s a sample of it knit up in some different ways:

Cloud Gazing is available on Sock Perfection and dyed to order on any base you like.

I also dyed up the butterfly colorways on Stained Glass Sock this week:

You can see all the newbie yarn in the New section of my shop right here.

I think that’s everything for this week. If you have any questions about the Advent calendars, please don’t hesitate to email me. Have a great weekend.
