FAIRY DUST - Soft Art Batt Made of Merino, Alpaca, Tussah Silk, and Angelina - Spinning Fiber, Carded Batt, Art Batt, Felting Batt

Only 1 left in stock

I couldn't sleep last night, so instead of counting sheep, I decided to card wool fiber into a totally new art batt for spinning or felting.

I started out with some bright orange merino, some soft purple merino, and some bright chartreuse merino top. So it didn't blind anyone, I added some soft gray alpaca and some white tussah silk along with some shimmery gold and purple angelina. I carded it twice to blend it well, and the result is a surprisingly pastel mixture of soft fibers that has an ethereal fairy-like quality to it.

This would spin into a beautiful fine yarn and could be used as an open-work neck warmer or small scarf or as a beautiful triangle shawl in combination with something else. If you are thinking along those lines and would like me to make more of these, I would be happy to do so. Just contact me about it.

Name: Fairy Dust
Weight: 2 ounces
Contents: 79% merino top, 10% baby alpaca, 10% tussah silk, 1% angelina
Colors: Bright orange, medium purple, bright chartreuse, gray, white, gold
Carding Style: Layered batts carded twice to blend the colors well
Uses: Spinning or Felting

Each batt is shipped to you in a lovely organza drawstring bag to prevent it from getting dusty or humid until you are ready to use it. It also has a label to let you know what it's made of for future reference. This makes a great presentation if you are giving art batts as a gift to your favorite spinner or felter as well.

Also, as a token of my appreciation, I am including your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these are natural moth deterrents. If you would prefer not to have either one, just choose the no scent option instead.

Happy fiber artistry!
