Dyed Merino Top from Ashland Bay - 2 oz of 21.5 Micron Combed Top for Spinning or Felting in Lemon Merino Top/Merino Roving

Only 5 left in stock

This listing is for 2 ounces of soft 21.5 micron Ashland Bay merino wool top in Lemon. This is a bright shade of yellow. I would say it is very close to a primary yellow. It can be used to spin, felt, or even to arm knit or crochet just as it is. This is definitely next-to-the-skin soft.

As a spinner and weaver, I have spent years looking for the softest, cleanest, and most consistently dyed merino. I have never found anything that comes close to Ashland Bay's quality, so I am offering it for sale to other fiber artists.

I sort the different colors of top in ROYGBIV order to make it easier for you to find the color you're seeking.

I will ship your merino top to you in lovely organza drawstring bags to prevent it from getting dusty or humid while allowing it to "breathe" until you are ready to use it. It also makes a great gift this way.

Also, as a token of my appreciation for my amazing customers, I am including your choice of either a sprig of fresh rosemary or a handmade felt ball infused with essential lavender oil with your order. Both of these are natural moth deterrents, and I will include one per order. If you would prefer not to have either one, just choose the no scent option instead.

Wondering how much 2 ounces of merino top really is? It's about 2-1/2 inches wide by half and inch thick by 10 feet in length. To give you an idea of how much you might need for your project, an infinity scarf I knit for my husband weighs just under 4 ounces, a scarf I wove for myself weighs just over 4 ounces, and a felted wool scarf weighs less than 2 ounces. Of course, you probably won't want to limit yourself to only one color! Just take a look in my shop to design your palette.
